I feel like someone used the Killing Curse on a part of my soul.

Well, my childhood officially ended at about 2:40am yesterday.

I got my first Harry Potter book for my 6th birthday: The Chamber of Secrets.

I'd say that my obsession began there, but alas, the padres wouldn't let me read them until I turned ten.

I saw the first movie before I turned ten, and knew then that I absolutely had to read them.

So when I turned ten, I visited my favorite place (the library), and checked out a copy of The Sorcerer's Stone.

It was love the first read through.

I finished the first five books of the series within a month. It'd have been faster if the library had understood that I needed to read them all right then.

Now, all the movie premieres and book releases seem like such a blur. I finished Deathly Hallows in a day, and cried like a baby because it was over. There was no more story to look forward to.

But, I reasoned, I'll still have the films.

At that point in time, I didn't realize that the end would come so quickly! Alas, it did, and I cried again.

Anyway, enough of the backstory, no matter how touching it might be. ;)

I went to the 12:25 showing at the Bountiful Cinemark because I was dumb and waited until the week of to order tickets. But it didn't really matter because I was seeing it anyway so everything was okay. :)

My good friends Josh Thornell and Nick Shrum came with my sisters and me. Nick dressed as a Slytherin student, Josh as a muggle (really he just didn't dress up. Lamey!), McKayla as Fleur Delacour, Cami as Bellatrix LeStrange, and I went for Luna Lovegood, the character I feel that I am most like.

I was very true to character all night: dropping things, forgetting things, saying weird things... Haha. :)

It was so much fun. :)

The movie itself was absolutely incredible. Possibly my favorite of the eight.

If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it! I've even talked to people who don't like the series that liked it. 

It's that good! It made me cry, lovelies!

Anyhow, I think I've ranted enough about the magic (ha ha) that is Harry Potter.

All good things come to an end. It's sad, but it's all right. :)

Oh! I almost forgot! Here are the nails I worked on for two days:

I'll be sad when they start to chip! They took ages, and I was really pleased with the end product! :)

Mischief managed.

The kid on the right could soooo be one of my siblings.

As awful as this is, I had to share it. I laughed long and hard. My sister McKayla laughed even harder for an even longer time... And made weird noises which made her laugh harder. :)

Now that you've been entertained/super grossed out... Have a nice Memorial Day weekend! I'm off to Southern Utah! :) Expect pictures when I get back!

Last night, on the way home from my high school's production of Arsenic and Old Lace, I was thinking about several things:

• How much I love that play. Which is SO much.
• How I must get the movie from the library sometime soon! I haven't seen it in ages! If you haven't seen it, please go find it. Right this very moment! It's a Cary Grant movie... And you can't go wrong with him. :)
• How I wasn't in what would have been the last theatrical production of my high school career. :( Granted, I didn't have time for it, but it made me sad!
• How much fun to spend time with my siblings (McKayla came to the play with me), and, come fall, I'll really miss being able to do that whenever I so desire. I need to make the most of the six months I have left at home!
• How much I wanted to roll the windows down, blast music, and sing loudly (and off-key!)

Well, after thinking these things, I did roll down the windows and blast music. It just so happens that Saturday night is Showtunes Saturday Night on KOSY 106.5 (musical buffs, I highly recommend it. I discover new musicals through it quite often!) This was uber convenient. We turned up the radio so loud it could have woken the dead and sang our little hearts out to good ol' Julie, Sutton Foster, Barbra Streisand, and all their lovely, lovely friends. :)
Exciting side note - some attractive guy in a different car waved and yelled "Hi!" at us. I grinned and yelled "Hi!" back! Then the car he was in turned to go to Subway. A shame, really. It's just so fun to talk to people in other cars. I wonder what his name is...


Anyhow, I will be doing more of this with my sisters in the coming months! Actually, I'm taking McKayla and Cami to see The Scarlet Pimpernel at Viewmont High School on Tuesday. Quite a few of my friends from being in The Music Man last summer are in it, as well as my friend Garret, who was kind enough to buy us tickets before they sold out! I'm very excited to see them all. :) But more on that after I've actually seen it.
